Fiscal Progress both sponsors and hosts numerous events in the Triangle to promote financial awareness to the public.
Credit Report Review Sessions
Fiscal Progress also offers free credit report review sessions. Call (919) 719-1759 to schedule an appointment with a Certified Credit Report Reviewer. These sessions typically last 45 minutes and can be highly effective with or without your credit score.
For this year’s tax season, Fiscal Progress is offering free credit report review services in conjunction with volunteer income tax assistance. All taxpayers may schedule an appointment to meet with a Certified Credit Report Reviewer to review their credit report and find ways to improve it for free. Sessions can be scheduled on an ongoing basis. Fiscal Progress also has agreed to partner with a number of volunteer income tax assistance sites throughout the Triangle and surrounding communities to offer this service on select days. Funding for this service is provided in part through the generous support of EITC-Carolinas.
Statewide Conference on Financial Literacy and Asset Building
The Statewide Conference on Financial Literacy and Asset Building was held in Chapel Hill during September 2005. State Treasurer Richard Moore announced the public launch of North Carolina Saves. Over 350 attendees representing North Carolina based nonprofits, civic groups and financial institutions participated in discussions on asset building strategies and public policy. Many were also trained as volunteer wealth coaches for the NC Saves statewide campaign.
